Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By adding Ascent bots (Sentinel, Beacon, Vanguard, Arbiter, or Architect) to your Discord server, or by using the Ascent dashboard, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, remove the bots and discontinue use.

2. Service Description

Ascent provides Discord bots for server security (Sentinel), support ticket management (Beacon), AI-assisted community engagement (Vanguard), escrow mediation (Arbiter), and server management (Architect). The dashboard at dashboard.ascents.gg provides a web interface for configuring these services.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction) and comply with Discord’s Terms of Service to use Ascent.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Ascent bots to violate Discord’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
• Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, or interfere with bot functionality
• Use the bots to harass, abuse, or target individuals
• Circumvent rate limits, security features, or verification systems
• Use automated tools to interact with the dashboard or bots outside of intended interfaces

5. Server Administrator Responsibilities

Server administrators are responsible for configuring Ascent bots appropriately for their community. This includes setting moderation thresholds, enabling or disabling features, and ensuring their server rules comply with applicable laws. Ascent is a tool — enforcement decisions are ultimately the administrator’s responsibility.

6. Availability & Uptime

Ascent is provided on an “as is” basis. We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Downtime may occur for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for actions taken or not taken by the bots during outages.

7. AI Features Disclaimer

Vanguard’s AI responses, Sentinel’s AI-assisted moderation reasoning, and sentiment analysis are generated by third-party language models. These outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. AI features are tools to assist — not replace — human judgment and moderation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ascent and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to data loss, server disruption, or incorrect moderation actions.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Ascent bots for any server that violates these terms or Discord’s policies. You may remove the bots from your server at any time to discontinue use.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Ascent after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be announced in our Discord server.
