Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

Ascent bots (Sentinel, Beacon, Vanguard) collect only the data necessary to provide their features within your Discord server:

• Discord user IDs, guild IDs, channel IDs, and role IDs required for bot functionality
• Message content only when processed in real-time for automod, AI chat, or ticket systems — never stored in bulk
• Moderation actions (warns, mutes, kicks, bans) including moderator ID, target ID, reason, and timestamp
• Ticket transcripts stored in the database for your server’s records
• Verification and anti-raid metadata (account age, join timestamps, avatar hashes)

2. How We Use It

• Automoderation, raid detection, and security features
• Ticket management and support workflows
• AI-assisted responses (Vanguard) — messages are sent to an LLM provider and not retained after processing
• Dashboard display for server administrators
• Analytics and health scoring scoped to your server only

3. Data Isolation

All data is scoped per guild. Server A cannot view, access, or influence Server B’s data. The dashboard enforces Discord OAuth and guild-level permission checks — only users with Manage Server permission can view a guild’s dashboard.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Data is stored in a private MariaDB database on a secured VPS
• Database credentials are environment-only and never committed to version control
• All dashboard traffic is served over HTTPS
• Discord OAuth tokens are stored in encrypted, signed JWT sessions

5. Third-Party Services

• Discord API — for bot functionality and OAuth authentication
• OpenAI API — for Vanguard AI responses and sentiment analysis (no user data is retained by the provider)
• Google Safe Browsing API — for URL safety checks (URLs are hashed before transmission)

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Moderation logs and ticket transcripts are retained as long as the bot is in your server. When the bot is removed from a guild, in-memory caches for that guild are immediately cleared. To request deletion of stored data, open a ticket or contact us at discord.gg/ascent.

7. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us through our Discord server. Server administrators can disable any feature that collects data through the dashboard or slash commands.
